More like 20 min into the future.
Bibi’s sins for decades leading up to Oct 7 should be the focus. He’s essentially helped prop up Hamas in Gaza and Fatah in the WB. More recently he lit Israel on fire with a plan to erode the judiciary, and was warned loudly that he was leaving the country vulnerable. The response in Gaza and the WB has not achieved the right balance between rage and necessary tactics. WCK proved that. For months Israel blocked aid and blamed everyone they could think of for it. After their deadly WCK gaff lit a fuse in the Biden admin, aid magically increased exponentially. Doing Israel’s credibility no favors.
I mean, a change of Israeli leadership, to one that believes Palestinians cannot be expected to serenely accept the status quo forever (or any longer now) is step one. Then lots of leverage from Arab countries needs to be applied to a Palestinian population with grievances. There are no clear answers, but step 1 is leaders who want to find them. That’s been lacking across the board.
